Yesterday, members of the Oelli held a press conference in which they stated that it was still undecided whether Starcraft 2 would join the roster of games for the World Cyber Games 2008.
“None of the games for next year have been decided,†said Kim, “January or February is when the announcement on next years games will happen.â€
He went on to explain the qualification process would happen in its usual format online through a voting process. Another point that was made is that 15 different countries must play the game before it can be considered as a WCG game.

While it would be awesome to see Starcraft 2 played at a professional level, a release date for SC2 has yet to be announced, and on top of that there will probably be a 3-4 month balancing period where the bugs and overpowered factors are patched before competitive play is feasible.
